Minister opens $4.4m police station

THE new Rosewood Police Station was officially opened by the Police Minister Mark Ryan last week.

The $4.4 million station will serve 15,000 residents and will accommodate eight general duties officers, with an additional three positions to be added.

“As Rosewood and its surrounding areas experience significant growth, it is vital that we continue to invest in infrastructure that supports community safety,” Mr Ryan said.

“This new station will allow our officers to provide enhanced services and respond more effectively to the needs of this expanding community.”

The previous Rosewood Police Station was built in 1989, replacing the original structure which dated back to 1908.

Acting Commissioner of Police Shane Chelepy was also on hand to officially open the new facility and meet local police officers and staff.
