THIS blue-faced honeyeater was captured delighting in the flowers of an Aloe Vera in a Rosewood garden.
Colloquially known as the banana bird, the blue-faced honeyeater is distinctive for its plumage, with olive upper parts, white underparts and a black head and throat with white nape and cheeks.
It’s the bright blue mask-like patch of colour covering their face that catches the eye and gives them their name.
They forage in the branches and foliage of trees, seeking out insects and drinking nectar.
