Walloon resident Will Milligan said that there are some interesting statistics for the year.

So far, Walloon has received 1362.5mm (53.6 inches) of rain.

“I have been keeping accurate rainfall statistics for 15 years now, and this year the month of May has been the wettest that I have recorded for that month so far,” he said.

“Over the past 15 years the annual rainfall average has been 930 millimetres, by April this year this average has been far exceeded.

“In February this year I recorded 705mm (27.7 inches) of rain, this being the wettest month within the last 15 years.”

• In 1996, the Bureau of Meteorology recorded 479.3mm (18.87 inches) for the month of May in the alert on the Rosewood Walloon Road.
