BOOK Week was celebrated at St Brigid’s Catholic Primary School along the theme of old worlds, new worlds and other worlds.
The school community dressed up together to acknowledge all of the talented authors and illustrators across Australia.
Classroom teachers, the principal and teacher aides created a fun atmosphere and a special presentation on stage where each class had the chance to parade their costume before revealing who they were.
The Book Week Book of the Year for older readers was selected as ‘The End of the World is Bigger than Love’ by Davina Bell and the Book of the Year for younger readers went to ‘Aster’s Good, Right Things’ by Kate Gordon.
All students at St Brigid’s shared laughs and talked about why they dressed up as their favourite book character.
Princesses, knights, animal characters, super heroes and fantasy characters all came to life and all students were congratulated on getting creative for the school’s annual Book Week Parade.
