Flood levels peak

WATER levels rose to flood heights in gullies and creeks throughout the area last weekend, bringing with it debris and causing damage to roads and in particular, the Five Mile Bridge at Walloon.

Minor flooding was predicted between Rosewood and the Five Mile Bridge after rainfall totals of up to 80mm in a day were recorded in the Bremer River catchment area.

On Saturday, the river at Rosewood peaked at five metres and at 4.8 metres at the Five Mile Bridge.

Plans are in place to fix the damage but residents have been warned to prepare for more wet weather as a La Nina declaration is now in place across Eastern Australia.
