TEENAGER Jess Colgan from Rosewood has recently realised her dream of writing and publishing her novel, ‘Everlasting Darkness’.
Jess has had a passion for writing and by the age of nine was writing stories and sharing them with her family.
She loves English and has an equal passion for reading.
“Jess is the first person in the family to have written and published a book, I feel that she got the inspiration from all of the stories that she has read over the years,” her mum said.
“As a mother I am very proud of Jess’s achievement, although she felt nervous, she was very excited to see her vision became a reality.
“She has written numerous books in the past and she is very proud of her work.
“Young adult fiction and fantasy are her favourite genres.”
Jess said she wrote ‘Everlasting Darkness’ after she had a dream about “an alone little girl who stood up and defended her sister.
“This dream was the foundation of sisters Saige and Darcy’s relationship, and the story takes you on a magical journey through the hard trials of life to see the misguided girl behind the mask,” she said.
“I am now planning a sequel to complement ‘Everlasting Darkness’ which is very exciting and I am so thankful to my mother Jules and to my family for their support.”
Jess also loves listening to music and spending time with her family and friends on the farm.
