A LANEFIELD resident can attest to the generous hospitality of the owners of the Royal George Hotel in Rosewood.
Elaine Thomas was left stranded in Rosewood during the flood when her driveway, and only access to her home, was inundated.
She lives on Henderson Road in Lanefield and was on her way to Ipswich when she realised that the Seven Mile Bridge was inundated with floodwater.
“I came back to the Royal George Hotel to wait for a while to see what was going to happen and then I tried to get back to Lanefield to my home and couldn’t get through as the water was just too deep,” she said.
“Left then with not many choices I returned to the Royal George and explained to the owners that I would pay to stay at the hotel for the night, they replied saying’ no you can stay here for nothing, don’t worry we will look after you’.”
Elaine said the kind offer was really appreciated.
