MARBURG’S Community Centre was draped in the nation’s flag as community members enjoyed an Aussie style meal and a trivia competition to celebrate Australia Day.
The event was hosted by the Marburg and Districts Residents Association with Bryant Alexander as the Master of Ceremonies on the day.
Association Secretary Wendye Gratton said Bryant did a great job of running the event.
“Despite the hot weather, many families came along to be part of our event and the feedback was that everyone really enjoyed themselves,” she said.
“An Aussie style meal of a meat pie, vegetables and pavlova was served and the extras on the tables included homemade damper, lamingtons and violet crumble nibbles.

The MDRA was the winner of this year’s Ipswich City Council Community Group of the Year Award and the trophy was on show for the first time at the centre.
