SWEET and savoury treats were enjoyed by local families, the Marburg State School community and invited guests and helped raise $1,500 for the Cancer Council at Marburg’s Biggest Morning Tea.
The annual event is hosted by the Marburg and District Residents Association,
Association Secretary Wendye Gratton said that around sixty guests attended the morning tea in the Marburg Green Shed Community Centre.
“Members of the organisation did a great job of preparing and serving the freshly made sandwiches and baked goods,” she said.
“Students and principal Russell Napier from the Marburg school came along to assist with the serving and also with the running of the multi draw raffle, with prizes that were generously donated.
“An informative talk was delivered by Association member Leo Faranda, who explained the importance of donating blood which is seriously needed for cancer patients.
“All who attended had a very enjoyable time, and I want to express my gratitude and thanks to all who contributed to make this event such a success.”
