Livai is Queensland Boxing Champion

REBELS Boxer Livai Savuro is the 2023 Queensland State Champion title.

Livai won the championship at the Queensland State Boxing Titles, which were held in Brisbane, late last week.

The title win adds to the list of Livai’s championship wins last year at the Australian Boxing titles and the Golden Gloves titles.

Rebels Boxing Club owner and manager Robbie Sbeghen said Livai won the Australian title in 2022 as a junior.

“This year was his first time competing in the youth division,” he said.

“Livai competed in the youth 60-kilogram division.

“He did really well and gave it his all, and I am very proud of him.”

Livai’s next competition is the Australian titles which will be held in South Australia from July 4 to July 8.

“To prepare for this competition, Livai will now participate in an Australia Youth Developing training camp,” Robbie said.

“This competition is a pathway to the 2032 Olympics which will be held here in Australia.”

A Rebels boxer now for over three years, Livai said he was focused on his training and on giving it his all, in pursuit of his dream of one day competing in the Olympics.
