King’s Birthday honours for Squadron Leader

FOR her outstanding contribution as the RAAF Security and Fire School’s Chief Instructor, Squadron Leader Rebecca Trembath was recognised in this year’s King’s Birthday Honours with a Conspicuous Service Medal for Meritorious Achievement.

Squadron Leader Trembath said she was humbled by the award.

“It merely reflects the important work of the RAAF Base Amberley school, which is helping prepare those performing vital protection, security and firefighting duties across Air Force.

“It is very special to be recognised and I was blown away when I found out.

“I am delighted and humbled to be acknowledged for my commitment and dedication to service.

“I always try to give my best service to others and the organisation, meaning that I dedicate my full intellect and heart and use my skills wisely to whatever role I have in front of me.

“But, I am no different to many serving personnel today or in the past. I believe heart and character are essential for success, including building strong interpersonal relationships with others.”

Squadron Leader Trembath is no stranger to ground-breaking achievements in learning and development in Air Force.

Her various impressive milestones include supporting the establishment of Air Force’s Operational Safety Training framework, as well her contribution to creating the Australian Defence Force Joint Professional Military Education Continuum and Joint Warfighting learning analysis.

While the individual recognition made her feel proud, Squadron Leader Trembath said it was always about the team around you that ultimately makes the difference.

“The team is and was everything,” she said.

“I learnt so much from their talent, intelligence, expertise and integrity as human beings. There is never a single source of success – it is always about the team and I am incredibly proud of their achievements and am still their biggest promoter.”
