New playground launched at Rosewood Kindy

THE new playground was officially opened at C&K Rosewood and District Community Kindergarten, last week.

In her opening speech Kindergarten co-director and teacher Debbie Brown thanked those who helped along the way.

“A project like this does not happen without the dedication and generosity of many people,” she said.

“Rosewood Community Bendigo Bank gave us the financial sponsorship of $12,000.

“This brought the joy of swinging to our playground.

“Their support made a tangible difference in the play experiences of our children, and we are truly grateful.”

They also received a $35,000 grant from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.

“This grant was instrumental in turning our vision into reality, and this beautiful playground stands as a testament to the commitment in supporting local communities.”

The grant applications were written by Skye Turner, a parent of children who once attended the kindergarten.

“Skye’s dedication to our centre has been invaluable, and we are so lucky to have had her championing our cause,” Ms Brown said.

“There was also time and effort put in by our past families and committee members who have fundraised for this project over many years.

“Our Kindy contributed $70,000 of our own funds towards this project.”

The playground was designed with the needs of children at the fore and they played a role in the kind of equipment and the layout of their new play space.

“I’d also like to thank our wonderful educators who played a vital role in designing and coordinating this project over many years,” she said.

“The dedication, insight, and passion for creating an engaging and safe play space for our children have been invaluable.”

Ms Brown said the playground was testament to the hard work and commitment of well-being to the kindergarten’s children.

“The playground is more than just equipment, it is a place where children will laugh, explore, and create wonderful memories for years to come,” she said.

“It embodies the spirit of community, collaboration, and care that defines our kindergarten.”
