Drakes supermarkets raise funds for Ronald McDonald House

DRAKES supermarkets raised more than $55,500 for Ronald McDonald House Charities through its Christmas Charity campaign in Queensland and South Australia.

The fundraising campaign was held in all Drakes stores in the two states from December 11 to 31.

The campaign concept involved five cents from selected product sales being donated directly to the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).

“We are so grateful to be part of Drakes National Christmas campaign,” said Emma Thompson, CEO of the charities in South East Queensland.

“Each year around 3,500 families call RMHC SEQ their home-away-from- home, with the majority of our families travelling from regional Queensland to stay with us.

“This wonderful initiative will go straight towards providing essential accommodation and support programs for families with ill or injured children – a gift that we will remember forever this holiday season.”

Roger Drake, Managing Director of Drakes Supermarkets acknowledged the support of staff and customers.

“Their generosity and enthusiasm have helped us make a meaningful difference, reinforcing our commitment to giving back to the communities we proudly serve.

“The funds raised will go directly to supporting RMHC’s vital work, offering comfort and hope to families when they need it most.”
