Million dollar win, makes a millionaire

A MARBURG man became a millionaire when he was one of four first division winners in the Gold Lotto on Saturday night.

Each entry scored $1,244,104 and some change.

The ‘millionaire from Marburg’ told an official from The Lott that he couldn’t believe his eyes, and kept checking his ticket online to confirm it was true.

“I’m stoked. I’d be a bit louder but everyone’s asleep,” he said.

“We’ve been looking to buy a house, so it’s come at a perfect time.

“I checked my ticket seconds after the draw was complete and I just couldn’t believe it.

“I checked my numbers, then I exited the app, then I checked again, then I exited the app again, then I checked again. It was never-ending!

“I told my wife, and she didn’t believe me at first.

“We jumped straight on the internet and started looking at all sorts of cars and houses and holiday destinations.”

He said he’d played the Lotto on and off for 30 years.

“I usually have a weekly entry with marked numbers but this ticket I bought on a whim of the day of the draw. It was just a QuickPick.

“It was a completely random decision!

“We know we need to be smart with our decisions, so although we’ve been daydreaming, we’ll be speaking with a financial advisor first.”

The winning System 9 QuickPick entry was purchased at Spar Express Marburg.
