STAUNCH community advocate and former long-serving Ipswich City councillor, David Pahlke, was critically injured in a car accident on Friday evening.
It is understood that he suffered fractures to his ribs, wrist and leg and a head laceration and is expected to remain in hospital for at least a month.
According to police reports, the accident happened at 6.20pm at the intersection of the Thagoona Haigslea Road and the Karrabin Rosewood Road at Thagoona.
It involved a collision between a Ford Ranger containing a driver and passenger and Mr Pahlke’s Mini Cooper.
Mr Pahlke was transported by helicopter from the Thagoona soccer field to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The driver and passenger of the Ford Ranger were also transported to the Princess Alexander Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Forensic Crash Unit are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
