Plants galore at Marburg Garden and Outdoor Expo

ON Saturday, more than 200 stalls weighed down with plants, and more, attracted thousands of people to the Marburg showgrounds for the 2023 Marburg Garden and Outdoor Expo.

Nine months of planning went into organising the event by the Garden and Outdoor Expo committee, the Marburg Show Society and associated volunteers.

Show Society Vice President Barb Frohloff set up her stall on the day to ensure there was something for everyone for the garden and indoors.

“Everyone involved in bringing this event to Marburg has worked so hard together in making it such a success,” she said.

“From volunteering on the gate, in the traffic control, in serving and preparing the food and drinks, to selling raffle tickets and to every area in between, thank you to everyone,” she said.

Special guests included Member for Ipswich West Jim Madden and Member for Blair Shayne Neumann.

Mr Madden described the event as a huge success. He said the weather was perfect, there were lots of informative seminars, excellent traffic control, and fantastic organisation by all involved.

“I was honoured to be asked to join MP Shayne Neumann for the official opening,” he said.

“I congratulate everyone involved in the organisation of the event and also thank you to all of the stallholders.

“What really impressed me was at every angle turned within the showgrounds, there were fresh flowers, horticulture at its finest and overall, a really positive and friendly atmosphere.”
