Violent behaviour in popular Rosewood Park causes distress to neighbours

SCREAMING, shouting and violent behaviour at all hours of the day in a popular Rosewood Park, has been causing distress to a family who live close by.

The Cobb and Co Park in John Street, Rosewood, is in an area popular with families.

A nearby resident who asked not to be named, reported that on Thursday, May 18, there were about 20 young people in the park and they were screaming and acting violently towards another group of individuals in the park.

“I often sit at the front of my home, where I hear most of the commotion that takes place in the park,” the resident said.

“Unfortunately, the happy sound of families playing has turned into aggressive verbal behaviour that quickly turns into physical contact.

“The screaming and obscene language is out of control and I have on many occasions witnessed physical brawls and fighting between youth who crowd the undercover area and other areas within the park.

“It is scary and concerning for the neighbouring families and also for the young children who utilise the park area to play and to catch up with their friends.

“This is a regular occurrence in the park, my friend and I have reported the incidents to the local police.

“I just hope that something is done soon, before someone is seriously hurt.”
