PINK themed cupcakes were sold on a student and P&C stall the same day the students and the school community had the chance to meet two National Rugby League Superstars at Ashwell State School, recently.
On the day, students had the opportunity to meet National Rugby League players, Gold Coast Titan and World Cup player Hailee-Jay Maunsell and Rugby Sevens Olympic Gold medallist and fellow Titan, Evania Pelite.
The students were eager to get active and took to the oval with Hailee and Evania to learn rugby league drills and exercises before playing a competitive game.
And Principal Dallas Schmidt said the day was a great opportunity for the whole school community.
This included the cupcake stall.
“Our older students stepped up to help the younger students, and lots of learning took place through counting the profits and working out the purchase amount of each item, that was sold on the cupcake stall,” she said.
“A total amount of $88 was raised from the stall and it will go towards an upgrade to the current school ground equipment.”
