Local boxers pack a punch and bring home Championship titles

REBELS Boxing Club “packed a punch” in front of a huge crowd at the Ipswich Regional Boxing Championships event in early July.

Three Rebels boxers won Ipswich Region Championship belts.

Rebels Coach Robbie Sbeghen said the night was a huge success as all the top boxing clubs from around Australia attended the competition.

“We were super impressed with the venue, the crowd was ecstatic and I am proud of all of the competitors who gave their all in the ring,” he said.

The competition was fierce.

“Our club took home three Championship belts,” he said.

“Champion belt recipients were Andreas Rice in the 63kg Welter Weight class, Livai Savuro in the 60kg Light Weight class and Noah Winthingham in the 75kg Middle Weight class.”

He added that a real buzz of excitement surrounded the ring as families, friends and competitors watched the boxing action take place.

The Rebels athletes are now back in training to prepare for the Golden Gloves event and the Australian Titles.
