Country entertainment line-up set to impress

ROSEWOOD Show is set to showcase the best products of local crafts, horticulture and agriculture today and tomorrow (Friday and Saturday).

Needlework, Spinning and Weaving and Leatherwork Steward, Pam Lobwein has been involved in the Show for many years.

“Over the years I’ve met many people who all come to the Show to enjoy the entertainment with their family and to meet up with friends,” she said.

“This year there is an impressive number of entries in all areas of my sections, and these works will all be on display in the Show Hall.”

One of the displays in past years, was a display of creations from Ipswich resident Elizabeth Jordon.

“Elizabeth was a very talented lady who entered in the crotchet, sewing, knitted and embroidery sections in many local shows for over 50 years, her talent drew the crowds and everyone was very interested to hear her story and to witness her works,” she said.

“Sadly, Elizabeth passed away this year (at 110-years-old) , though her works will still be remembered in a special display that I will be putting together for her.

“It will consist of her story and pictures of her work.”

Pam said her section displays also draw lots of interest.

Among her displays are entries from Cabanda Care residents and other care facilities in the area.

“The Show brings people together, from the young to the old and also the disabled, it means so much to me to see their faces light up knowing that they are enjoying their day with everything that is on offer,” Pam said,

Agriculture, horticulture, school displays; cattle, horse, pig and dog shows, the Gordon McGeary Challenge, dancing, singing, poetry readings, market stalls, photography, cooking, fine arts, poultry and birds are just some of the attractions.

Mick the Balloonatic is back and ready to create your children’s favourite animal out of balloons, while telling jokes and making everyone smile.

After a full day of entertainment, show fun and displays the arena will be brought to life with a laser light show and by country music band, Route 33, who will perform late into the night.
