Firearms storage audits

Police from Rosewood Station will continue to conduct weapons storage audits over the coming months, particularly targeting those weapons licence holders who have not been inspected recently.

Firearms – future plans

As a licensed firearm owner, you need to think ahead, when you pass away, what happens to your firearms?

If you don’t have a current will bequeathing the weapons to a beneficiary of your estate, you could be leaving an unnecessary emotional and stressful problem for your family.

A person, who is not appropriately licensed, cannot take possession or responsibility for the firearms you leave behind.

A firearm in the hands of an unlicensed person is not only unlawful but can be dangerous.

If not properly stored, there is always a risk your loved ones or others could be harmed.

In Queensland, when firearms are not considered in estate planning, they are vulnerable to becoming lost or even stolen.

Responsible firearms ownership is a key factor in keeping our community safe, prepare for the continued ownership of your firearms by including your firearms in your estate plans.

In court

On February 2, police from Rosewood and Gatton CIB executed a search warrant at a Grandchester address in relation to drugs and firearms offences.

As a result, an 18-year-old woman from Forest Hill was issued with a notice to appear for supplying dangerous drugs, an 18-year-old Little Mountain man was issued a notice to appear for possession of utensils and a 21-year-old Grandchester man was arrested and remanded in custody for supplying dangerous drugs and firearms.

On February 5, police from Rosewood responded to a report of a man causing a disturbance outside of the Drakes building in Rosewood.

A 47-year-old Ipswich man was found to be verbally abusing a member of the public. He was issued with a move on direction and a notice to appear in court for causing a public nuisance in relation to the matter.
