Confusion over mandatory proof of Covid-19 vaccination

SOME less than tech-savvy members of the community are feeling left behind on how to upload their Covid-19 vaccination records.

Karen is a Rosewood resident who said she felt “totally lost” when it came to creating a MyGov account and linking it to the Check in Queensland app on her phone.

“I have owned a mobile phone now for almost five years and during this time I have learnt how to use the basics, access google and how to take photos,” she said.

“What I find challenging is the uploading, downloading and the correct way to use and access certain applications.”

Karen is not the only one who is finding this new rule challenging, as according to the Rosewood Community Centre manager, Donna Hanlon, the centre has received more than 50 requests for help.

“Each year our volunteers work around the clock to help and assist where needed, though this year we have just been so busy with assisting families with the new Covid-19 requirements.

“You are not alone and we are here to help in any way we can.”
