Call out to replace plaque on the Seven Mile Bridge

CONVENOR of the Rosewood History Group David Pahlke has noticed that a plaque that was mounted on the Seven Mile Bridge near Rosewood has disappeared.

David said the plaque was fixed onto the bridge to recognise the official opening on July 23, 1968 by former Governor of Queensland, Sir Alan Mansfield.

“This bridge is of significant interest to the area and is on one of the main access roads used by locals and visitors to get into and out of Rosewood,” he said.

“I have checked the bridge and the plaque is missing.

“If it has been removed or stolen from its original location then I think it needs to be replaced.”

The Moreton Border News contacted the Ipswich City Council and a council representative said that the plaque appears to have been stolen but gave no indication on whether it would be replaced.
