Sports day challenged students in sprints through to three-legged races

STUDENTS from Maroon and Warrill View state schools combined for a sporting competition late last month which included sprints, relays, high jump, long jump and discus.

All students were involved from Prep to Year 6.

Principal Christine Clark said there was an added excitement with the addition of old fashioned sack races, egg and spoon races and the popular three-legged race.

“The older students already knew each other from a combined school camp that took place on Moreton Island earlier this year,” she said.

“Great displays of athleticism and persistence were on display on a perfect winter’s day, with friendly competition evident between the two schools.

“Lunch was provided for everyone with some very delicious treats included, the day was won by Maroon School and all of the staff and the students agreed that it was a fantastic day.”
