NAIDOC week celebrated at the Marburg Races

THE Marburg Pacing Association invited special guests Roberta Graham from the Ugarapul People and the Leichhardt Deadly Dancers to celebrate NAIDOC week at the track.

Roberta spoke to families who attended the day thanking them for coming along to the celebration and for supporting the Marburg Pacing Association.

“I am an Elder of the Ugarapul people and I acknowledge the land in which we are standing on, while paying respect to our past People,” she said.

“This week is a special week to celebrate our first Nation People, our country and our culture and I am very pleased to be here today.”

A Welcome to Country Pace opened the nine-race program which included an Ash Barty Pace, a NAIDOC Pace and the final of the Barastoc Race and Win Handicap.
