FRIENDSHIP and connections are behind 12-year-old Emmy June’s entry in the Moreton Border News Holiday Hijinks Competition.
The Rosewood schoolgirl now has a double pass for free entry into Dreamworld, WhiteWater World and the SkyPoint Observation Deck atop the Q1 building.
Emmy entered a photo of herself and her best friend Lilly.
Lilly went to school with Emmy but moved to Hobart, a year ago.
The gal pals missed each other so Emmy Jane’s parents took her to Tasmania for a visit.
“This was my first trip to Tasmania and everything about it was exciting,” Emmy said.
“My family loves history, so we were all hyped up about visiting historical sites around Richmond and Hobart.
“Then there were the cool spots like Bruny Island, the MONA museum, the Tahune Airwalk, and Hastings caves with stalactites.”
Lilly joined Emmy and her family so the girls had as much time together as possible.
“The MONA museum is a wild place filled with strange art, giant structures and underground tunnels,” she said.
“We also visited Mawson’s Hut Replica Museum, which is a full-scale copy of an Antarctic building from the era of exploration.
“It was cool, but kind of gave me chills imagining what life was like for those explorers.”
Every day was packed with new adventures but the trip wasn’t just about seeing new places, it was about spending time with Lilly.
“Tasmania will always hold a special place in my heart, and it’s mostly because of the time we spent together, “she said.
Emmy and her lucky invitee will experience Australia’s largest theme park, offering thrilling rides like the Steel Taipan.
There are also family friendly areas like the brand new Rivertown.
Animal lovers can enjoy up close encounters with kangaroos, koalas and more, making it a perfect mix of thrills and wildlife.
Then she’ll be able to cool off at WhiteWater World with its exhilarating water slides like the Triple Vortex or relax in wave pools and splash zones.
With shaded areas and family cabanas, it’s ideal for a day of splashing fun.
SkyPoint Observation Deck offers breathtaking 360-degree views.
