Line dancers donned festive outfits and cowboy boots for a Christmas social held by Belt, Buckles and Boots this week, marking the group’s end-of-year celebrations.
Instructor Ms Angie Harris said the event served as the group’s annual breakup party, with regular classes now paused until late January or early February.
“We do it here every Monday from 6.30pm to 8.30pm,” Ms Harris said, adding that she also runs classes on Tuesday nights at the Ipswich Showgrounds, catering to multiple skill levels.
The Christmas social featured traditional line dancing, with a relaxed program allowing dancers to move straight into familiar routines, while newer dances were walked through together.
Ms Harris said attendees were encouraged to dress up in their own way, with no pressure to participate.
“We’re really happy with the turnout,” she said.
“Any more people and it would be too crowded and too hot.”
The group will resume classes in early 2026.
