ROSEWOOD resident Ede Bambling was presented with a medallion from Bowls Queensland and a trophy from the Cunningham and District Bowls Association to celebrate her 100th birthday.
The presentation also marked Ede’s 50th year as a member of the Rosewood Bowls Club.
Rosewood Bowls Club President Terry Hobden said the club was proud to have Ede as a Life Member.
“Ede joined the Rosewood Bowls Club in 1971 and during her time she has been involved in ladies days and many competitions that the club has held,” he said.
“A very talented bowler, she has won thirteen championships in the pairs, triples and fours competitions and she has played a key role in the kitchen with the preparation of sandwiches, cakes and other treats for carnivals.”
Ede was presented with the medallion from Bowls Queensland and the trophy from the Cunningham and District Bowls Association in front of family, friends and members of the Rosewood Bowls Club.
“She is an inspiration to us and a well-respected friend,” said Terry.
“Simply, Ede is just a brilliant lady, who is very nice and easy to talk too.
“I congratulate her and wish her all the very best.”
