ROSEWOOD and district residents gathered in local parks and streets on New Year’s Eve to watch the $10,000 firework display funded by the Ipswich City Council.
Division 4 Councillor Russell Milligan said the New Year’s Eve fireworks were shot high into the sky for the whole region to see, even from their backyards.
“The Ipswich community were encouraged to turn their heads towards the sky for the 2021 fireworks as they launched at 9pm,” Cr Milligan said.
Division 4 Councillor Kate Kunzelmann said the display lasted for five minutes.
“Large, 75mm aerial shells, which shoot high into the sky, were used to enable residents to view the display from their home backyards or socially distanced in large, open public spaces nearby.”
