Rosewood RSL members get together to enjoy Christmas festivities

MEMBERS from the Rosewood RSL and their guests shared the spirit of Christmas at the Rosewood Bowls Club on Saturday.

Special guests to the event included, Federal Member for Blair Shayne Neumann, Member for Ipswich West Jim Madden, and Crs Teresa Harding and Kate Kunzelmann from Ipswich City.

Cr Harding thanked the Rosewood RSL Board and its members for the invite to their annual Christmas event stating that it was a pleasure to be there.

“I am always honoured to attend RSL events and dinners because as a past service member and a wife of a service member there is a special connection,” she said.

“The branch should be congratulated on their efforts in supporting past service men and women within their community, because this is what RSL is all about.”

Rosewood RSL President Bernie Mason said that it was lovely to see everyone join in a Christmas dinner, fun raffles and friendly banter.

“Thank you to our special guests who joined us, and thank you to our members and families as I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe New Year.”

The Christmas dinner that consisted of cold cuts of ham and chicken with assorted salads, went down well before Christmas pudding and trifle.

A special thanks was given to the kitchen and bar staff at the Bowls Club for their hospitality and service on what was described as a great day.
