For or against Day Light Saving Time

IS THERE a way to finally quieten the argument over whether Queensland should adopt daylight saving in line with other eastern Australian states?

Compromise is the solution says Walloon resident Will Milligan.

Will tells us he’s been studying the topic of Daylight Saving for quite some time and thinks that the states should work together to dim the argument.

And he says the chorus has gained momentum this probably due to the new Queensland residents who have moved from the southern states as a flow on from the pandemic.

“This means that the 55 percent against vote may be seriously challenged should another referendum be held,” he said.

“Now, I’ve openly looked at all of the arguments for and against Daylight Saving, and seriously, if both arguments are so passionately supported, why can’t all states on the eastern side of this great country, just meet half way?

“In the new concept of compromise, each state giving and taking a little.

“Let’s all just move on by Queensland giving half an hour, and the southern states also giving half an hour to meet in the middle, and if it is so important, let’s make it permanent.

“In recent times, I now hear argument supporting that Queensland needs to be divided into two with the south of Queensland introducing Daylight Saving and North Queensland not introducing daylight saving.

“This is absolutely unimaginable and disastrous repercussions can only be expected.”
