A brand-new look to the Rosewood Bowls Club has been achieved through the construction of a new shade structure.
The Club won a Gambling Community Benefit Fund grant worth more than $33,000 to fund the structure.
It is now complete and covers the front entrance of the Club providing shade over tables and chairs that provide a relaxing outdoor space for their members and visitors.
President Terry Hobden said a new shade area had been on the list of things to do for some time and through the expertise of member, Greg James, the vision has come to fruition.
“Greg worked hard completing all of the paperwork to apply for this grant and we were very happy when we received the news that we were successful,” he said.
“The money all went to the construction of the shade cover which is a permanent structure that covers almost all of the front area of the Clubhouse.
“It has made such a difference to the overall appearance and also to the comfort of those who like to sit outside to watch a game of bowls while enjoying a cold drink and conversation.”
