WILL Milligan lives to travel and has spent many years exploring new places, visited famous landmarks and enjoyed what our country has to offer.
The Stony Creek Mini Muster was the event that was recently ticked off the Walloon resident’s list and he said it was a weekend to remember because it was filled with country music, fine food and a friendly atmosphere.
Will said, how many times have we all said, that sounds like a great event that we must do, and then before we know it, time passes us by and it becomes just something that we have talked about.
“Let me give you a heads up, pack your swag for a little adventure and hit the road, because there are so many events and places to see that are all in our backyard,” he said.
“Music in the Mulga which is a four-day country music festival held in May in Outback Queensland is one of those events.
“It is 850 kilometres from Walloon so breaking up the travel time by dropping into the Nindigully Pub is recommended, because this occasion is a must do.
“The following weekend is the Shearers Shindig in Thargomindah, and with it only being an additional 140 kilometres up the road, it is worth the extra miles.
“In the week between these events, you can visit Yowah to experience opal mining at its best, and the town of Thargomindah is rich with well documented historical displays.”
A map is the start of Will’s adventure.
“Get out there and see what this great country has to offer, pack a sense of humour, essentials and be safe, you never know what you find when you hit the road, hope to see you all there,” he said.
