Services to honour the fallen and Anzac Day

THE Rosewood RSL Sub Branch have two services planned for Anzac Day, April 25.

Rosewood RSL Sub Branch President Bernie Mason said the committee had worked hard to bring back both services to the community for all families to pay their respects on Anzac Day.

“Families are welcome to pay their respects at 4.15am in a Dawn Service March that will proceed from the Rising Sun hotel to the Anzac Park Memorial Hall,” he said.

“We welcome everybody and encourage families to bring a torch to the dawn service to light up the skies in respect of the fallen.

“After the March, the service will take place in front of the Soldier Memorial before we invite families to enjoy a gunfire breakfast in exchange for a gold coin donation.”

The Morning Service begins with a March down the main street of Rosewood that will form at 8.30am from the Cobb and Co Park.

“Returned servicemen and women will lead our parade, which is a proud time to commemorate their sacrifice and service to our country,” he said.

“The Rosewood RSL will present a Service in the Anzac Park Memorial Hall with special guests and school leaders taking the stage.”

A game of Two-up hosted by Rosewood RSL member Brian McLucas will follow at the Rising Sun Hotel.
