Ghostly presence detected in old Rosewood cottage

THE owners of an old cottage in Rosewood admit to being sceptical about a visit to the Railway Street home by a paranormal group.

But that has changed since the recent visit by Kerrin Quinn from the True Blue Paranormal Group.

What was known about the cottage was that a long-time resident passed away from natural causes there.

Since that day, neighbours are reported to have heard and witnessed unexplainable happenings, such as footsteps in the home and sounds of items moving around the rooms.

Property owner, Sue Smith said her husband Les bought the cottage 17 years ago.

“It was during the years when the house was vacant that neighbours heard footsteps coming from inside the house and large noises that sounded like furniture was being shifted from room to room,” she said.

“The house would be over 100 years old, and it was run down when Les purchased it, so we decided to renovate it to bring it back to its former glory.

“During this time my daughter lived in the home.

“My daughter never said that she heard or felt any presence in the house and I was also sceptical about things to do with the past lives, though I was absolutely taken back by what Kerrin found while she was in the home.”

Equipment was set up including sensors in the main bedroom and the lounge room areas.

“I stayed with Kerrin during the investigation which started on sunset and went on until late into the night,” Sue said.

“I knew the exact spot where the resident had passed away, which is the hallway and I kept it a secret until Kerrin walked straight to the spot and pointed it out.

“Kerrin stated that she felt that the hallway was the spot, immediately upon entering the front door, there were also feelings of a presence and Kerrin felt something touching her on the back.

“The whole night was a little surprising.”

On completion, Sue said she was left with a whole new outlook on the afterlife.
