Body slams and backflips in Walloon

FROM high-flying heroes to hard-hitting villains, Queensland’s best wrestlers will storm The Walloon Hotel this Saturday, July 26.

Run by second-generation wrestling promoter Anthony Fermanian, VPW has become a mainstay of Queensland’s wrestling scene since launching in 2016.

With family roots in the business – Mr Fermanian’s late father ran shows across Victoria and Queensland from the 1970s through to the early 2000s – VPW is continuing the tradition of grassroots entertainment.

“We’ve built something really special,” Mr Fermanian said.

“It’s about family, passion, and giving the next generation of wrestlers a chance to shine.”

He said the Walloon Saloon Showdown will feature some of the state’s most electrifying talents, with fan favourites including Kobra, Aussie Wolf, and midget wrestler Flash Man.

“Flash is a high-flying performer with a big personality and a cult following and is expected to be one of the event’s biggest drawcards; it’s shaping up to be a star-studded night,” Mr Fermanian said.

“We’ve got legends, newcomers, and a rowdy crowd ready to cheer and boo. What more could you want?”

The first bell rings at the Walloon Hotel on Queens Street will ring at 5pm.
