Information sought on burglaries

Rosewood Police are investigating the burglary of a dwelling on Rohl Road, which occurred on Friday, May, 6. The occupant was not home at the time and entry was forced through the toilet window. Once inside the offender stole a quantity of jewellery.

Rosewood Police are also investigating the burglary of a dwelling on Flametree Court, Walloon, which occurred on Tuesday, May 10. The occupant was not home at the time and entry was forced through the laundry door. Once inside the offender stole a quantity of property before exiting the dwelling.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who has knowledge of these burglaries to contact their local police station or to call Crimestoppers.

Rosewood Police OIC, Sgt Travis Ehrich said that if residents wish to report a crime to police the only approved methods are by attending a police station in person or by reporting through Policelink.

“Posting about an incident on Facebook or other social media platforms will not result in police investigating your complaint,” he said.

In Court

Rosewood Police conducted an exhaustive investigation into a traffic crash which occurred on March 28, on Rosewood Laidley Road at Calvert.

Multiple vehicles were involved and a Mount Mort woman, 27, suffered serious, life threatening injuries.

Rosewood Police have now charged a Laidley man, 20, with one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing grievous bodily harm and one count of unlicensed driving. The man will appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on June 30.

Road Safety

Sgt Ehrich is encouraging patience with the prevailing road conditions, as police would like to see all families return home safe.

“Saving one or two minutes by conducting risky driving manoeuvres is just not worth it,” he said.

“The Rosewood area continues to experience a wetter than average May this year.

“Please do the right thing and stay out of flooded areas and do not drive through floodwaters.

“For updated information please refer to the Ipswich City Council Disaster Dashboard and the Bureau of Meteorology websites for updates.”
