A joint effort from volunteers, Donna Hanlon and the community brings success to the Rosewood Community Centre

Rosewood Community Centre members recently held their Annual General Meeting and welcomed the new board.

General Manger, Donna Hanlon said that 3,506 sets of feet walked through the centre doors between July 2021 and June 2022.

“Sometimes these are the same sets of feet that are coming in just to say hello, to catch up and to have a cuppa.

“Supporting all families is important.”

The Centre offers opportunities to reduce social isolation which are the driving force behind many of the programs.

The Centre volunteers have worked hard throughout the year, providing information and referral services on 2,519 occasions.

“This is a valuable service as we are able to connect individuals and families with services, organisations, groups and businesses that are able to meet their needs,” Ms Hanlon said.

“We have improved access to services 1,390 times, improved quality of life on 2,336 occasions, and improved or provided opportunities to be connected to community 2,255 times.

“As we had outgrown the centre many years ago and now also manage the Girl Guides hut, we have recorded 1024 sets of feet entering the huts doors over the past year as well.”

Ms Hanlon said the programs, activities and support services responded to community need.

“This is made possible through the hours given by our amazing 22 volunteers and our six volunteer Management Committee members. They co-ordinate the programs and groups and assist with running the daily activities at the centre and the hut.

“They have provided the organisation with 3,031.50 hours of their valuable time.”
