Calling on Council to repair local roads

ANOTHER Rosewood resident is calling on Division 4 Councillors Russell Milligan and Kate Kunzelmann to take a walk around the streets of Rosewood to witness what she says are busy roads in need of repair.

In particular William and Arthur Streets in Rosewood are on Kathy’s list, as two roads that connect to each other and lead onto John Street.

“I live on William Street and at times I was asking drivers to slow down as they drove past my house, because the road is in a really bad state,” she said.

“When it rains, the road becomes even worse and the patchwork repairs that Ipswich City Council continues to do, simply just lifts off the road.

“This then causes the holes to get bigger and bigger, then with more rain they fill up with water and drivers are then left having to dodge the mess all over the road.”

A request for council to come and have a look at the two roads has been submitted by Kathy, and she hopes that something will be done soon.

“Every day it worries me that drivers are not going to see the large holes that cover the roads, I think that it is a dangerous issue that is also causing wear and tear on resident’s cars because it is a busy road leading into the main street,” she said.

“All I would like to see is the road repaired and smoothed out and I think that our councillors have a responsibility to ensure our roads are safe and accessible.”
