THE Marburg State School Playgroup have been trialling the Story in a Box initiative with the Ipswich Libraries First 5 Forever team.
Playgroup Facilitator Amy Cross said they welcomed the opportunity to be involved.
“The Story in a Box consists of books, puppets, props, puzzles and other early learning resources, which are themed around the Stories for Little Queenslanders series, with the inclusion of braille, Auslan and first nation resources for increased accessibility,” she said.
“The kits will be available for loan by playgroups across the Ipswich region for group learning and for families to use at home and it was delivered with additional funding through the First 5 Forever Innovation Grant.”
First 5 Forever is an initiative of the Queensland Government which is co-ordinated by the State Library of Queensland and was being delivered in partnership with local government.
“The Story in a Box has been a fantastic addition to our playgroup,” Amy said. “We thank Ipswich Libraries for this initiative and for making it easy to access such great resources.”
