Plants galore, gardening advice and more at Marburg’s garden expo

MORE than 150 market stalls are expected to fill the Marburg Showgrounds for the annual Marburg Garden and Outdoor Expo on Saturday October 14.

Event Organiser Barbara Frohloff said there will be something for everyone at this year’s Garden Expo including live entertainment, information seminars and activities for the children.

“Special guestspeakers on the day are Kate Wall, Jason Hauser, Chelsea Allan, Robert Wilson, Shirley Dance and Brian Heath, who will be sharing their knowledge and experitise on all things in the garden,” she said.

“Our guestspeakers this year will be stationed in two spaces, on the main grandstand and in the showground hall, where they will be speaking live with power point presentations.”

And as the Expo is all about gardens, many of the market stalls will have “plants galore”.

“In fact, the stalls will offer the avid gardener with everything needed to create the perfect space within your garden,” Barbara said.

“Special garden ornaments, garden and plant art, and fun and quirky creations will be availiable to purchase alongside everything needed in the garden and for every plant species available.

“From outdoor space living, to creating a green space inside, rare and exotic species will be available to purchase with free advice on how to look after and grow your new additions.”

Adding to the event experience, the organisers have lots in store for visitors.

“Surrounded by hay bales to create a place to take a break, point of lay chickens will be on display to educate children and families about all things on the farm,” Barbara said.

“Food trucks, coffee vans, ice cream and different cuisines will be available for purchase, with an ATM on site and a cloak room to store your items while you shop.”

The Garden Expo is also pet friendly.

“So, bring your furry friend along on a lead for the perfect day out at Marburg’s annual Garden and Outdoor Expo.”
