The Coppers Log November 3, 2023

THE move from Rosewood Station to Marburg Station is now complete and the Rosewood station is now temporarily closed while the demolition and rebuild commences.

Rosewood Police will provide a response for any calls for service in the Rosewood division and will have regular support from specialist police units to assist with maintaining a strong police presence in the area during this transition period.

Normal front counter service will be available from the Marburg Station from Monday to Friday 8:30am to 3:45pm. Email: Rosewood.Station@police.qld.gov.au or Phone: 34372600.

Crime

During the previous weeks the Rosewood and Marburg areas have experienced an uptick in rural property crime offences and an investigation into the crime, was commenced with Rosewood Police, Marburg Police and the Ipswich Property Crime Team.

As a result of the investigation a Redbank Plains man, 21, was arrested and charged with 19 offences including robbery, burglary and stealing offences.

The man is alleged to have rammed rural gates open before cutting padlocks to access sheds and shipping containers.

A quantity of stolen property was recovered including gun safes and tools.

Further charges are possible as further, unreported, breaks-ins are discovered. Rosewood Police are seeking information from members of the public if they have seen a suspicious black single cab Mitsubishi Triton utility on or near their property in recent weeks.

In Court

On September 27, Rosewood Police intercepted a vehicle on Railway Street, Rosewood for the purpose of a breath test and the driver, a Booval man, 46, returned a positive breath alcohol result of 0.225%. The man was issued a Notice to Appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court and his licence was immediately suspended.

On September 4, Rosewood Police received a complaint of wilful damage to a vehicle at Walloon. Police subsequently issued a Rosewood man, 18, a Notice to Appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court for wilful damage.
