THE Australian Labor Party Rosewood Branch has donated $750 worth of grocery vouchers to the Rosewood Community Centre, to assist families in need this Christmas.
Branch representative Wendy Bourne, said it was a pleasure to join General Manager Donna Hanlon and Treasurer John Hansen of the Rosewood Community Centre to donate the money raised by the Rosewood ALP.
“Over the last few years, the Rosewood ALP along with the local business community, have conducted a community raffle, where prizes won were to be used at Rosewood businesses, which has been a win, win for everyone,” she said.
“The community support has been fantastic and the branch decided that the funds raised should be donated back to the community, so, we have converted the proceeds of the last raffle into grocery vouchers for the Rosewood Community Centre to distribute to those most in need.”
They chose to support the Centre due to the work that is done for the community.
“The Rosewood Community Centre do a wonderful job through assisting with emergency relief, health and well-being, social isolation issues, hampers to those in need and by supplying a meeting place for local community groups,” Wendy said.
