ROSEWOOD Toastmaster Penni Boughen has been awarded for her creativity and talent through her Tall Tales presentation which she delivered to an audience at a recent Toastmasters Masters Competition in Rosewood.
The competition is an annual event that attracts Toastmaster competitors who travel from all over the Ipswich region to compete across a number of categories.
In the Tall Tales category Penni Boughen delivered a speech about men on a construction site, who experience different things through the packed lunches they take to work.
Unlike a traditional story, the Tall Tales story must have many twists and turns to keep the listener entertained and engaged and Rosewood Toastmasters President Andrew Spresser said that Penni’s speech was very entertaining and interesting
“Penni kept the audience captured throughout the story,” he said.
“In each category there are strict guidelines that each competitor must adhere too, while keeping the audience engaged and interested.
“Penni is very talented and when she talks she has the ability to really get everyone to engage with what she is saying.
“Her speech was entertaining, funny, interesting and it made everyone think about the simple things like what people take to work for lunch.”
Penni’s speech ticked all the guidelines boxes.
“Storytelling is an important aspect of public speaking, and I congratulate Penni on a job well done,” he said.
“Not only did she keep the attention of all in attendance but she demonstrated what it takes to be a fantastic communicator, demonstrating everything that makes up a valuable toastmaster, and the Rosewood team are so proud of her.”
