Rosewood Lions Citizen of the Year nominee Gaylene Stack

PRESIDENT of the Queensland Country Women’s Association Rosewood branch Gaylene Stack has been nominated for the 2024 Rosewood Lions Citizen of the Year Award for her commitment to community and for her service through the QCWA.

Nominated by the Rosewood QCWA, Gaylene joined the branch in 2015 and soon became an active member in all of the activities and functions.

Currently holding the role as President and Catering Officer, she is described by the members of the QCWA as passionate, motivated and enthusiastic, with a strong will to support the community.

Gaylene is known to be a quiet achiever, who liaises with a variety of organisations to assist those in need.

She has held many positions on the committee and has also represented the Rosewood association at the QCWA West Moreton Division.

An avid crafter, Gaylene has held the responsibility of creating and producing trauma bears, which are donated to local groups for distribution to children and those in need who are receiving care in hospital.

Gaylene also caters and volunteers with the Rosewood Community Centre and recently she advocated for a new kitchen facility in the Rosewood QCWA building which is now in operation and proving to be a huge asset to the facility for catering.

Currently, Gaylene is planning the celebration of the Rosewood QCWA’s centenary and has been researching and writing the history of the association.
