MOUNT Marrow State School came alive with colour as students proudly showcased their work at their annual Art Exhibition, last week.
Families, friends and community members gathered to celebrate the creativity of the students, with the school hall transformed into an art gallery of paintings, drawings and mixed-media pieces.
Mayor Theresa Harding and Crs Jim Madden, and David Martin joined the celebrations, taking time to admire the students’ work and speak with families about the importance of the arts in education.
“Their presence added to the sense of pride and excitement felt across the school,” Principal Emma McBain said.
Ms McBain emphasised the event on Tuesday, August 26, was about more than just displaying artwork.
“The exhibition is a chance for our students to express themselves and share their imagination with others.
“It builds confidence and shows them that their ideas and creativity matter.”
Parents and visitors commented on the variety and quality of the work, with many impressed by the way even the youngest students found ways to express their stories and ideas through art.
“The afternoon was a joyful reminder of the strong sense of community at Mount Marrow State School,” Ms McBain said.
“It also showcased the many ways students shine, not just academically but also creatively.”
