Brian applauded for 30 years of Service

THE Rosewood RSL Sub Branch has acknowledged the 30 years of service, Brian McLucas, has given to the organisation through a special presentation at the recent annual general meeting.

Sub Branch President, Bernie Mason, congratulated Brian on his achievement and presented him with a certificate from RSL Queensland.

“Brian followed in his father’s footsteps and joined Rosewood RSL Sub Branch as a 21-year-old while still serving with the Australian Army,” Bernie said.

“He has been a loyal and active member over the years and has held the position of Vice President for several years.

“Brian regularly leads the Anzac Day Street Parade as the Flag Bearer and has organised Anzac Day Two Up at the Rising Sun Hotel for many years. These events hold a special place in his heart.”

Brian was also presented with a handmade quilt by Quilts of Valour representative, Debbie Wadwell.

She explained that the quilts are made by volunteers and are awarded to veterans to acknowledge their service and as a sign of appreciation by the Australian public.

Federal Member for Blair, Shayne Neumann, who attended the AGM, also presented Brian with a Certificate of Recognition and Ipswich Mayor, Teresa Harding, and Division 4 councillors Russell Milligan and Kate Kunzelmann offered their congratulations.
