THE Lower Mt Walker Community Action Group Inc was formed as a response to the recent proposal to establish an industrial solar and battery venture in Blanchs Road.
A Steering Committee is in place and the group’s aim, says Secretary, Grant Taylor, is to “protect and preserve our community”.
“The committee and others have been working diligently to protect and preserve our community”, Grant says.
“We have been gathering information, consulting with experts across various fields of interest and correlating a strategic plan.”
The committee has communicated with Federal, State and Local Government representatives.
“We want to increase awareness of our concerns and objections, regarding industrial solar and battery projects in our community,” Grant says.
“There have been some major developments in recent weeks. We are starting to see beneficial outcomes as a result of the strategies we are pursuing.”
The committee has organised a family day on Sunday June 23, to share information and updates with the community.
“Come along, with your family,” he invited. “There will be family activities to enjoy all afternoon and speakers to inform those gathered from 4.30pm.
“We are also offering an invitation to become a member of the Lower Mt Walker Community Action Group.”
