IF YOU know a remarkable resident who deserves recognition, you can give them recognition through a nomination for the 2025 Ipswich Australia Day Awards.
Ipswich City councillor Pye Augustine said Ipswich city was home to many “extraordinary” individuals and community groups.
“The awards are our chance to publicly show appreciation for those who embody the Ipswich spirit, giving their time and talents selflessly to better the community,” she said.
“Often our dedicated volunteers, sporting role models, community groups and unsung heroes go unnoticed in day-to-day life.
“I urge you to nominate these inspiring individuals and community groups.
“If you know someone who fits the criteria, get started on your nomination now.”
Ipswich Australia Day Award categories recognise different accomplishments, ages and backgrounds.
This year’s categories are Citizen of the Year; Senior Citizen of the Year; Young Citizen of the Year; Cultural Award; Sport and Recreation Award; Community Group of the Year.
Nominations are open now.
Judging will take place in November, with finalists announced early in December.
Finalists will then be invited to the official awards ceremony in January.
