THE Rosewood Amateur Fishing Club’s Saltwater competition is coming to an end.
The last trip, to Jacobs Well – Jumpinpin will be held in September.
Then it’s back to freshwater for the last two trips of the competition year.
There have been some lovely catches over the past three saltwater trips.
The chilly winter weather has led to a good bream season.
At the June trip, Donna Henderson claim first place, with 20 bream, weighing 6.6kg and gaining 96 points.
Daren Henderson took out second place with,13 bream, one tailor and one whiting with a total weight of 5.18kg and 76.8 points earned.
In third place was Jamie Harris, with two tailor, two whiting and five bream with a total weight of 2.565kg for 44.65 points.
The Junior competition winner was Holly Bazzo with one bream, 0.403kg earning 15.03 points.
In the July trip Terry Sheppard took first place with an awesome catch of 28 bream and two flathead, with a total weight of 11.58kg gaining 155.8 points.
Judy Litfin came second with five bream and one sole. Weight 2.22kg for 38.2 points.
In third place was Jamie Harris with seven bream weighing 2.07kg and earning 37.7 points.
Holly Bazzo won the Junior Comp, catching four bream for 37.7 points.
The August trip held on August 17 and 18, saw some awesome catches with none of the 11 members competing going home empty handed.
Terry Sheppard claimed first place with 22 bream, weighing 7.82kg and adding 110.2 points to his tally.
In second place was Daren Henderson with 16 bream and one tailor in the esky. The total weight was 6.10kg and earned Daren 88 points.
Judy Litfin in third place, bagged one estuary cod, one bream, two tailor and two flathead. Weight 5.60kg for 73 points.
With three more trips to go for the year, it’s anyone’s game.
